Niall O'Brien

Niall O’Brien is an Irish photographer and director with over two decades of experience capturing stories that explore identity, isolation, and human connection.

Trained at the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, he has developed a distinctive voice—intimate, poetic, and often laced with dark humour. His work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group shows across London, Berlin, Zurich, Paris, and Dublin, including at the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the PhotoIreland Festival.

With a career spanning photography, film, and commercial direction, O’Brien’s projects have been featured by Time, Dazed & Confused, Another Magazine, Creative Review, and more. He has collaborated with platforms like A24 and Little Toller, and earned recognition at the Kinsale Shark Awards, winning Best Editing (2018) and receiving a Best Director nomination (2024).

Through a lens that reveals fragility, tension, and quiet transformation, O’Brien’s work consistently offers a deeply human portrait of modern life.
